We remember Deacon David as one of the spontaneous ones who will extend his hand of friendship whether in worship services, church camps or car park. His humility in service is what we learn from him. His jovial nature is what we will miss. May auntie Peggy, sister Tok Ling and family take heart that Deacon David is in God's loving good hands and you will all be united with him in Heaven one day.

Dear Tok Ling / Joel & Joash
I was shocked and saddened when I heard the homegoing of your beloved husband/father Deacon David Tan on 10 June 2020. Although our dear brother David has left us, he is still remained in our hearts and memories for he has warmed, encouraged and blessed us by his loving kindness, friendliness, generosity and uprightness for the Bible has written “The memory of the righteous is blessed “ Proverbs 10:7
May our Lord Jesus Christ bless and comfort you and all your loved ones during this time of grief and loss. We pray that you will find solace, peace & comfort in our Lord Jesus Christ’s marvellous love, grace and hope during this trying time for He who is our God of Comfort and is Everlasting and Merciful shall be with us even beyond death. Kindly accept my deepest heartfelt condolences and may our brother David rests in heavenly peace. Be assured by His wonderful promise that David who is asleep now will awaken on the day of our Lord’s coming for him and us all being His loving children who shall join David too in the glorious heaven.
Take heart, Tok Ling and Joel & Joash “ Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD “ Psalm 31:24 !
Shalom

Dear Tok Ling and family,
We are very much saddened by David's passing, but glad that he had so many good years. He mentioned his condition to me a number of times over the years and worried about providing for you and the children but always praised God that he was still around. I still remember when he invited the traffic wardens over to your house and we all enjoyed your hospitality. I thank God for David's fellowship and faithful service over the years.
Please do let my family and me know how we may be of any comfort or assistance. May God bless and comfort you and your children.

Dear Tok Ling & family,
We are still in shock from what happened . Guess David has passed his "probation" on Earth and is now called to glory in the Heavenly Realms.
David will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He was larger than life in many ways and He served God where others were reluctant to.
He was a jovial person & brought lots of laughter by his humour & self deprecatory jokes both in Thomson NBC, in LBPC & SASS.
May The Lord be with you all and comfort you in his absence.
In Christ

I believe words will not be able to express the loss your family feels on the sudden demise of your David. But I trust that our all loving God will give the family extra grace, comfort and peace to go through this difficult period .

Dear Tok Lin
I am very sorry to hear of the sudden home going of David. This news came as a shock to me and I am deeply saddened and I can understand how you are feeling now. I believe all who know him will miss his loving kindness, cheer and liveliness. May you and loved ones be comforted that this is a glorious day for him as he meets our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Heaven’s gloryland.

Thank God for David as he had been a channel of blessings to many people. For many years, he had been serving as a church deacon. I got to know him better when I was looking for a Maths tutor. He was patient and kind to his students. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones, especially Mrs Tan, Joash and Joel. May God be your refuge and strength. Take care.
Regards, Karen Chan
Dear Sister Tok Ling and Sister Peggy,
I felt your great loss on learning of Dn David’s passing. He had been a friend and encourager who ministered to my ailing husband. With his friendly, gentle, unassuming and cheerful manner, he had endeared himself to many of us. And I counted myself blessed to have him as the deacon of our church. Please be comforted he is now at rest with the Lord. For the Lord Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die’. One day we shall see David again.
Praying with you.....

I listened in to the live stream of the vigil service. I am not your church member. I am David's Univ friend. I thank God how God has used David to do His work. He loves the church. He also loves his family. Most of all, he loves God. Thank you for sharing David's testimonies.
Tok Ling and family, Num 6:24-26 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Dear Tok Ling and family,
We grieve with you over the passing of your beloved husband and father, Dn David. We will always be encouraged by Dn David's faithful and joyful service to God. May you be encouraged by God's promise in Psalms 73:26 - 'My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.'
In-Christ,

Our family had the blessing to be related to David and Tok Ling when our children Joash and Rebecca were united in holy matrimony last July. We have enjoyed David’s infectious joyousness, great sense of humour, generosity , big hearted ness and genuine concern . We would have loved to have our relationship deepen as we look forward to grandchildren. God in His Sovereignty took him home to receive his reward and eternal joy which far exceeds earthly joys. We will miss him dearly but are comforted by God’s promise that we will meet again on heaven’s shore.

Dear sister Tok Ling, truly there are times when we don't understand why God allows certain things to happen in our lives. But we take comfort that God loves David very much and knows what He is doing for him. So in this time of sadness, I pray that God will comfort your heart with the assurance that we will surely meet David again in the near future. - Calvin Loh

Dear Sister Tok Ling, our deepest condolences to you and family. David was a very dear and friendly brother. Be consoled that he is in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

David left us too soon, too surprisingly, too suddenly, without a chance for one more fellowship together. He is what everyone says he was; jovial, kind, attentive, always helping or helpful, and much more - just like the senior deacon that he was. He has now returned in confidence to his reward from our just Master, "For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus." (1 Tim 3:13).
Dear Sister Tok Ling, Joash and Joel, may our God and the Father of our Lord Jesus comfort you and be your comfort in this time of your sorrows, as you look for that blessed hope of His glorious appearing, when He shall bring with Him His saints including brother David. Until then, David will surely be missed by all of us.
Sincerely,
Seng Hoo, Robin and Family
